EKG research and development work has shown significant gains can be made
in enhancing solid/liquid separation in various forms of waste materials including
sewage and mineral sludges, mine tailings and construction wastes.
These waste materials represent mixtures of fine grained solids with water.
The dewatering of sludges is very desirable to reduce volumes, facilitate
mechanical handling and recover water. By their nature these materials can
be very difficult to dewater and present significant technical challenges.
